Kiki Paul
Kiki combines business leadership, governance expertise, and a commitment to social justice. She led Go Gentle Australia through historic end-of-life law reforms as CEO from 2016 to 2022, building it into a nationally respected voice. She currently serves as CEO of Community Transport Organisation, a peak body for providers.
She chairs the Australian Online Giving Foundation and remains a non-executive director at Go Gentle. Kiki brings over 20 years of financial services and not-for-profit experience, including board roles, advocacy campaigns, and digital innovation. Her work reflects her belief in equal opportunity and making a positive, lasting impact through informed, principled action.
She is a fellow of the Institute of Community Directors and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Hugh Murphy
Hugh has been a Trustee of the Australian Online Giving Foundation since its inception in 2014 and is delighted to see the growth in the amount of money distributed to so many excellent Australian charities since then. Hugh is also a trustee of the Aotearoa New Zealand Online Giving Foundation.
He has over 30 years of experience managing the delivery of a broad range of IT services and products and held several senior technical management roles. He is known for developing high-performance teams and has a passion for mentoring.
In 2018, Hugh decided on a career change, completed post-graduate studies and is now a member of a chaplaincy team at a large residential aged care home. He has a particular interest in the pastoral care of people living with dementia and their families and carers.
Hugh has also served on the board of a youth services charity and was involved in strategy development at a key time of change and growth. Hugh stepped down in 2022 and continues to volunteer including being the MC at fundraising events.
Sherl Westlund
Sherl is a Not-for-Profit and Social Impact Advisor, mentor, and Philanthropy advocate with over 34 years of experience driving meaningful change in the NFP sector. Her journey includes 26 years with Diabetes Research WA, where she served 16 years as Executive Director/CEO. In this time, Sherl led with vision whilst collaborating with numerous individuals and organisations to expand their impact in communities.
Sherl’s expertise spans governance, strategic development, organisational design, branding, philanthropy, donor management, and storytelling. Sherl’s multifaceted career also includes roles such as Clinical Coordinator and Health Practitioner at Northampton Asthma Health Care Service and managing the operations of Asthma WA Mid-West Branch.
Sherl is known for her ability to see the bigger picture and is driven by a passion to implement results that foster community growth—locally, nationally, and internationally. She firmly believes that through building trusted philanthropic collaborations and partnerships, communities can thrive and shape a better future.
Currently, Sherl continues to mentor and coach leaders in the NFP sector, serving as a board director and member, using her vast knowledge and unwavering belief in the power of collective action to make a lasting impact on the world. She is a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Management (WA) and a Member of the Institute of Community Directors.
James Hancock
James has built his career around growing people, culture, and organisations. He has worked across HR, Global Markets, Strategy, and Digital roles, and now focuses on Culture, Organisational Development, and Optimisation across Financial Services, Private Equity, Education, and Government.
He has seen firsthand the power of employee giving – from Commbank’s matched giving program to the impact (and challenges) of grant processes supporting local charities.
James joins the Australian Online Giving Foundation passionate about scaling this impact by expanding employee giving across Australian organisations, to sustainably enable not-for-profits to deliver what’s needed in our communities.
He holds degrees in Business and Psychology, is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Certified Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Sarah Adams
Sarah Adams is an experienced board director and expert in corporate strategy and reputation, with over 20 years’ experience advising some of Australia’s most prominent companies and leaders.
She is the Founder of Phronesis Strategy, a firm that partners with organisations and leaders to authentically protect and enhance their reputation, build meaningful trust and engagement, and successfully navigate challenge and change.
Her executive roles include Chief External Affairs & Government Relations Officer at Crown Resorts; Chief Strategy Officer & Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at AustralianSuper; and General Manager, Corporate Affairs at Coles Group (ASX:COL). In these roles, Sarah has led major corporate philanthropic programs and charity partnerships.
Earlier in her career, she held senior roles in the offices of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and several Federal Ministers. She has also worked as a management consultant with a global organisational consulting and leadership advisory firm, and as a lawyer specialising in employment law.
Sarah is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Global Executive MBA and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Hons)/Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the Australian National University. She is also a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
Dan Abbink
Dan joined the Board of the Australian Online Giving Foundation in 2025.
He currently works at Ampol Australia, where he leads the management of strategic customers across the Mining, Aviation, Commercial, and Wholesale sectors. With over 12 years of experience in the fuel and energy industries, he brings extensive expertise in commercial and risk oversight, building strong customer relationships, and negotiating complex agreements.
Dan also spent 20 years in the financial services sector, where he led large and complex financial transactions, including capital raisings, equity listings, and corporate deal structures. His experience includes managing multi-layered customer accounts with a focus on risk management.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from La Trobe University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He lives in Brisbane with his wife and two adult children.
